2014 Red Cross Red & White Ball

I was deeply flattered to be invited by Connecticut Cottages & Gardens to design a table for one of the pre-eminent charity events of the year - the 2014 Red & White Ball - held this year in the NetJets Hanger at Westchester County Airport.

After weeks of wracking my brain for just the right mood and theme, I settled on Wisdom, Peace and Purity. In my design theme, “Wisdom” was represented by both the white Owl (crafted by my master lighting artist Jose Esteves) and the Bodhi-Tree leaf designs on the custom table cloth I commissioned Peter Fasano to make for me. In Buddhist cultures, the Bodhi-Tree is sometimes called the “Tree of Wisdom” but is also often known as the Tree of Life. Both interpretations worked well for this theme. Peace was represented by the white Dove sculpture (also by Jose Esteves). I kept my colors narrowly to the theme of Red & White, but added gold to represent Purity.
